Bhagavad Gita 6.6: The mind as friend or enemy
Chapter 6, verse 6 · Krishna to Arjuna
For one who has mastered the mind, the mind is the best of friends. For one who has not, that same mind behaves like an enemy.
Context
Following 6.5, Krishna explains when the mind becomes a friend: when it has been mastered. Untrained, the same mind works against us.
What it means today
Every small promise you keep to yourself trains the mind to trust you. Keep one tiny commitment today — that is how the mind becomes a friend.
