Bhagavad Gita 2.47: Karmanye vadhikaraste — the most famous verse
Chapter 2, verse 47 · Krishna to Arjuna
You have a right to your actions, but never to their fruits. Do not let the results be your motive, and do not be attached to inaction.
Context
The heart of karma yoga. Krishna separates what is ours — the action — from what is not — its result — and warns against both chasing results and escaping into inaction.
